05 Dec The Art of Restoration
The Villa Inkognito, a part of Sommerro hotel in Oslo, marks a newly inaugurated project that necessitated a complete restoration of its facilities. This article delves into the specifics of the renovations carried out to breathe new life into the hotel and restore its former splendor.
Constructed in the 1880s, the Villa Inkognito transformation aimed to retain the style of that era. Our goal was to preserve the essence and ambiance of the original l building, while simultaneously convert it to a Boutique Hotel. Now the Villa has 11 rooms, each room is a history in itself inspired by a number of eras: classic Norwegian, art nouveau, arts craft and japonism. From original a villa with apartments, to later an office building, Villa Inkognito has now resurrected in its glory – the circle is closed.
Finding a company capable of handling every detail of the renovation was challenging. However, we found a capable technical partner in Frapont, skilled in managing the project. Their expertise in restoring old buildings and technical proficiency in working with high-quality materials were pivotal in realizing our vision for the Villa Inkognito Hotel.
In summary, the complete renovation of the Villa Inkognito Hotel has been an exhilarating and challenging endeavor. We have invested significant time, effort, and resources in returning the hotel to its former glory and are delighted to share it with our guests. We hope visitors feel transported to a bygone era while enjoying the modern comforts in this beautifully renovated boutique hotel in the heart of Oslo.
