ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Frapont has played a pivotal role in the development of the Steno Diabetes Center at Odense University Hospital (OUH), delivering state-of-the-art carpentry and wooden interior solutions that contribute to the center’s aesthetic and functional excellence. Our involvement in this project reflects our commitment to precision, quality, and the integration of natural materials in healthcare environments.

Architectural Woodwork

The project features extensive use of high-quality wood paneling, meticulously installed throughout the facility. The wood paneling, characterized by its warm tones and smooth finish, creates a calming and welcoming environment for patients and staff. These panels have been custom-fabricated to seamlessly integrate with the architectural design, ensuring both aesthetic harmony and acoustic performance.

Staircases and Balustrades

The staircases are a standout feature of the Steno Diabetes Center. Frapont provided custom wooden handrails and balustrades, designed to offer both safety and elegance. The curved design of the balustrades enhances the fluidity of movement within the space, while the woodwork’s precision detailing reflects our dedication to craftsmanship.

Acoustic Solutions

Understanding the importance of acoustics in a healthcare setting, we incorporated specialized wooden elements that serve dual purposes of design and functionality. The custom acoustic panels, installed in key areas, not only contribute to sound management but also add to the visual appeal of the spaces. The complex geometries and precise installation of these elements highlight Frapont’s expertise in creating bespoke solutions.

Integrated Fixtures

In addition to the larger architectural elements, Frapont was responsible for the integration of various bespoke wooden fixtures, such as built-in seating and radiators covers. These elements were designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding wood paneling, ensuring a cohesive and unified aesthetic throughout the center.

Sustainability and Quality

Frapont’s commitment to sustainability is evident in the careful selection of materials and the precision of our work. The wood used in this project was sourced from sustainably managed forests, aligning with OUH’s environmental goals. Every piece was crafted with attention to detail, ensuring longevity and durability in this high-traffic medical environment.

The Steno Diabetes Center project is a testament to Frapont’s capabilities in delivering high-end carpentry solutions for complex architectural projects. Our work at OUH demonstrates how careful material selection, expert craftsmanship, and innovative design can come together to create environments that are not only functional but also aesthetically inspiring.
